About Us
Blake E. Oakes is the managing attorney for The Oakes Law Firm, LLC in Metairie, LA.
His practice includes the entire state of Louisiana as he is admitted to practice before all Louisiana Courts, state and federal. He has extensive experience representing creditors in the pursuit of their claims. Although most of his career has been spent in private practice, he has also served as in-house counsel for a private insurance company that acted as surety for the bonding of construction projects. With a thorough knowledge of secured transactions, Mr. Oakes has dedicated his entire legal career working to protect the interests of his clients as they seek to perfect, preserve and enforce their claims.
Mr. Oakes handles civil litigation for clients on a variety of matters with a particular expertise in recoveries on defaulted obligations, including notes, credit cards, open accounts and other consumer and commercial instruments. Because of his knowledge and experience, he also serves as “Of Counsel” to other groups, providing valuable advice and consulting services regarding Louisiana law. He has presented at seminars in the past on various collection law topics (as seen below). His practice in collection law and creditor’s rights also includes bankruptcy and commercial litigation.
